Botley School Gardens

Welcome to our School Gardens.

We are very fortunate at our school to have extensive grounds and an enthusiastic group of volunteers, led by school governor Mr Barton, determined to develop them and provide beautiful and inspiring gardens for the whole school community. In line with our school values of stewardship of, and respect for, our environment large sections of the grounds are being developed to:

1. Use the resources provided by the school site to enhance delivery of the curriculum in a way that adds to the learning experience and provides opportunities to enjoy nature, beauty, peace and spirituality.

2. Provide beautiful and fruitful gardens that can be enjoyed, worked in and act as a source of joy, solace and inspiration.

3. Make the whole of the school site environmentally valuable and a haven for wildlife, ideally as a biodiversity hub at the centre of a network of sites across the Botley community.

When visiting the school please feel free to wander around the gardens.

In the meantime do click on the links below to see how our gardens continue to grow.

We have been very fortunate to receive support and funding from a number of organisations, not least our own FOBS. Community grants from Botley Parish, Eastleigh Borough and Hampshire County Councils have helped developed several projects. A generous grant from the Hampshire Garden Trust enabled us to buy the tool shed and polytunnel that are central to the children’s activities in the garden. Other grants have come from the Diocese, Hamble Rotary and the Linnean Trust as well as many gifts of trees, plants and seeds. Thank you all.
