Volunteering at Botley C of E Primary School
Thank you for showing an interest in volunteering to help our children in school. We welcome a variety of volunteers into school on a voluntary basis. These may be parents, grandparents, adults looking for placements to gain experience before starting a course in education or other members of the Botley community who wish to contribute to the learning and development of our children.
Types of activities
- Hearing children read
- Working with small groups of children
- Undertaking craft activities
- Working with children on computers
- Preparing resources for lessons
- Accompanying school visits
- Escorting children on local walks
Safeguarding
There is a requirement for schools to carry out an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for everyone who works in a school whether that be paid employment or in a voluntary capacity. You will also need to have a Safeguarding and Health and Safety Induction with a member of the Senior Leadership Team once you have DBS clearance and before starting to work in school.
Application Process
To apply to volunteer at Botley C of E Primary School please see the documents you need to complete below, these can be emailed or handed in at the School Office. Once these documents have been received you will be invited for an informal interview, at this time you will be asked to bring with you three forms of ID (one being photographic, i.e. passport), this is to verify your identity and home address.

Please be aware, that depending on when you apply, there may be limited volunteer roles available in school due to our other commitments to students from our local colleges and universities.
